doTERRA On GUARD Hand Sanitizer

Hand cleansers are a convenient, on-the-go solution for cleaning your hands when soap and water are unavailable. Today, traditional hand sanitizers contain isopropyl or ethyl alcohol. These ingredients can be harmful, especially if accessible to unsupervised children. Most hand sanitizers contain between 60 to 90 percent alcohol, which is enough to cause alcohol poisoning if ingested, extremely drying to the skin and a fire hazard.  According to CNN Health, a 2-ounce bottle of hand sanitizer may contain as much alcohol as four shots of vodka.

Combine in a squeeze bottle, that works best.

  • 10 drops of doTERRA onGUARD Essential Oil Blend
  • pure aloe vera gel
  • 1/4 t Vitamin E

Note: Essential oils can be stored in plastic containers if the essential oils are diluted. Make sure they are high quality if you do use plastic containers.

  1. Can you use the On Guard Sanitizing Mist that comes prepared (with a FDA label as antiseptic) directly on your throat?

    • Great question! doTERRA’s hand sanitizing mist is for external use only. But you can make your own, with water and using only doTERRA’s CTPG pure essential oils. What is it that are you trying to work on? A sore throat? You can do a 2oz spray bottle, fill up 75% of water, and referencing the “Modern Essentials” Book, it says some oils to consider are – Melaleuca, onGuard, Oregano, sandalwood and lime. So maybe depending on your body, different people are different for many reasons, so trying different oils may vary results!

    • Hi Jullian, one thing I love about doTERRA is that there are tons of recipes to help your family with many different wellness concerns. The Onguard Essential oil and Lemon oil are very affordable if you visit this link: http://bit.ly/2OlTS29, Retail: $42.67…Wholesale: $32.00
and the lemon oil: http://bit.ly/2Olr8GY Retail: $13.33, Wholesale: $10.00 (THESE ARE 15ml bottles – because they are so pure and potent, smaller amounts are only needed and especially for children the recipe I show will work fine- you can use less if you would like to make your recipe less potent too)
you can make your own mixture, and have it available to make over and over again! If you would like to get your own doTERRA account and get a kit, you would have a nice collection of different oils that are most popular to use for many different things. For your own wholesale account, it is only $35, but if you buy a kit the membership fee is waived. If you decide to do this in the Month of Nov 2018, doTERRA will also give you 50 credit points!! I will also send you a couple little spray bottles and roller bottles so it will be easy to make your own things to help you get started! Here is a link to the registration http://bit.ly/2Ntbw4M – or feel free to contact me I am here to help and work through your questions!

    • for throat spray, as often as you see fit. The body will use up the oils in a matter of a few hours, so maybe try that. The other thing to consider is, depending on how far along the issue is, it may take longer to support your body in fighting it. Building up the immune system is an ongoing process. It is like training for a marathon or climbing a mountain, you can’t expect to do that in one day, especially if you have not been training for it. So – consider the wholeness of supporting your body so when the flu or a sore throat comes along, your body can kick it faster with the support of essential oils.

  5. This may seem like a silly question, but when you say throat spray…does that mean you spray it on the outside of the throat or inside the mouth? You could actually use this as a disinfecting spray for the hands as well..is that correct?

    • Yes, thank you for asking for clarification! Yes to both, with the throat spray, you open wide and spray internally into the throat area! It would be ok to rub on the outside, however, with the combination of these two oils, I would recommend spraying internally. The lemon is photosensitive properties and would have your skin turn darker if you go into the sun, and would not look so good! The clove oil in the onguard is a hot oil and might not feel so good on the skin.

regarding the hand spray, yes, spray on your hands and rub in! doTERRA now offers a nice wonderful hand sanitizer, and it smells amazing and works great! Click here to check it out!
